PRESS RELEASE 2/28/2002 High Speed Drill Geometry Takes a Leap ForwardIrvine, CA – Feb 2003 Kyocera Tycom Corporation announced this week that it has taken delivery of an IDCT Microdrilling Systems SZ-1000 driller. The SZ-1000 features a 275,000 RPM spindle. "The reason we decided to acquire this machine is because of the ultra high-speed spindle," says Russ Reynoso, Corporate Product Engineering Leader for Kyocera Tycom. "Our goal is to always be pushing the envelope in mechanical drilling technologies and we believe that this is an excellent vehicle for developing new high-speed cutting geometries."
